Please have a read through the evaluation information details contained in this update to understand when and where the Atom HL evaluations will be. This update also contains some details about what to expect at the evaluations.

Hello parents, athletes, and coaches,

I would like welcome everyone to the 2019/2020 London Devilettes Atom House League division. My name is Peter Wethey and I will be the Atom House League convenor this year.  For those returning, welcome back, and for those new to the league we are glad to have you aboard. I am sure this year will be another fun and exciting year.

If you have not received an email from me and you have registered, please check your spam folder, and if you can’t find anything in your spam folder from me, please contact me via email [email protected].

We have 2 evaluation sessions scheduled for Atom house league this year. Teams will be drafted following the 2nd evaluation session and you will hear from the head coach of your team shortly after the team draft. We will have a 6 team Atom division this year.

Session 1, Saturday September 21st at London Sports Park (drills)

Ice time #1 10:15 – 11:05: girls with last names between AMARAL & HULST

·         black & white jerseys will be assigned

Ice time #2 11:15 – 12:05: girls with last names between IRSAG & REHMANN

·         yellow & red jerseys will be assigned

Ice time #3 12:15 – 1:05: girls with last names between RIEHL & ZIEGLER

·         silver & blue jerseys will be assigned

Session 2, Saturday September 28th at Argyle (scrimmage game)

Ice time #1 11:00 – 11:50: girls given yellow & silver jerseys

Ice time #2 12:00 – 12:50: girls given black & blue jerseys

Ice time #3 1:00 – 1:50: girls given white & red jerseys

I am still seeking a few on-ice volunteers
to help with the evaluation drills. A coach will be on the ice to oversee the drills and direct the girls. All you need is a helmet, gloves, stick and skates to help the girls on the ice. This will allow the coaches to watch off ice and record their evaluation results. This is a great opportunity to meet the coaches! Please email me if you can help out.

I am also seeking a few bench volunteers to help with the scrimmage game by letting the girls on and off the ice. Please email me if you can help out.

Evaluation process info:

1.        The assessors will evaluate by jersey colour and number so it is vital that your athlete keeps the same jersey for all evaluation sessions. Jerseys will be collected at the end of your last evaluation session. The teams will be established using the evaluation results. To ensure a balanced set of teams, it is important that your athlete do their best at the evaluations so the team’s can be created with accurate information. Please encourage your athlete to do their best at the evaluation sessions.

2.       Please attend your assigned ice time session. With almost 90 athletes to organize, it is impossible to shuffle athletes around to accommodate everyone's special requests and personal schedules. If you have a conflict for a critical item please email me and I will do my best to accommodate your request.

3.       When you arrive at arena for your first evaluation session, a table will be set up in the foyer with an attendant handing out assigned jerseys. Please go to this table to collect your athlete’s jersey when you arrive at the arena for the first evaluation session. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your athlete’s assigned evaluation session start time.

House League Development

House League Development this year will begin in October on Sundays between 11:00am – 1:00pm at Bostwick Community Centre. Please keep checking the website for information on this development opportunity. This is optional, additional instruction time that you will need to pay for should you be interested.… i.e. not included in the house league registration fees. The TPH group have run this program previously and I suspect that will be true again this year.
