Best in the West
Bantam BB has secured their spot in the upcoming LLFHL Championship Weekend. After finishing in 2nd place in regular season the girls took on Stratford in round 1.
With a sweep in Round 1 with 0 goals against, Bantam BB eagerly awaited for their next opponent. They met up with Windsor Wildcats for Round 2 and with another sweep, the girls were on a role and Championship weekend was within their grips.
Round 3 was going to be no easy win. Lambton Attack was the first place team in regular season and Bantam BB couldn't get a win out of them at all through regular season. That didn't stop them it just made them work harder. Game 1 started off a little shaky with 2 quick goals from Lambton but the girls battled hard and got the tie. A visit from Lambton to Sports Park for Game 2 and a lot of fans cheering on the girls won 3-2 to give them the advantage for game 3. A win or tie was needed and it was back to Lambton's barn for the final. A quick goal at the beginning from Jess Lee started the game fast and got the Devilettes Bench a rocking!!! Lambton soon tied it up so another goal was needed and Delaney Stacey did exactly what she needed to do from the point. 2-1 in the 2nd and both teams were working hard with 0 mistakes. Lambton tied it up again but Bantam BB didn't back down, this was their time to win. When Ainsley Walton was tripped on her way into the net and a penalty shot was awarded, she did exactly what she needed to do! She skated down the ice and put the puck in the back of the net for what would be the game winner.
The coaches and parents are so proud of these girls. Hard work, grit and determination has made them the Best in the West and they're on their way to Championship Weekend to prove their worth!
