Devilettes Tournament
The Fireballs, Vipers and Cherry Bombs all represented the Peewee Division in the Devilettes Tournament this weekend.
The Fireballs suffered two close losses before rebounding with a resounding win in their third game. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to move into the quarterfinals however the girls played very well.
The Vipers suffered an early loss before winning their next two games to move in the quarterfinals. The Vipers were down going into the third before tying the game however Lakeshore managed break the tie and knock out the Vipers in a close game. Congratulations to the Vipers for an excellent tournament.
The Cherry Bombs started out strong with three shutouts in the round robin. The Cherry Bombs moved through the quarterfinals where they met Lakeshore in the semifinals. The game went into overtime where the Cherry Bombs scored the winning goal to move into the finals.
The Cherry Bombs and Tecumseh played a physical tight checking game which remained scoreless through regulation and two overtime periods. It was standing room only as the game went into the shootout where Tecumseh prevailed to win the gold medal.
Congratulations to the Cherry Bombs on their silver medal performance and to the Fireballs and Vipers for playing some excellent hockey.
