Scorpions Make Finals in Wild Tournament
The Pee Wee House League team, The Scorpions, proudly returned home as Finalists in the Windsor Wild Winter Tournament. This three day event (January 4th through the 6th) hosted a variety of teams from Southwestern Ontario. With 11 teams in the Pee Wee House League division, the competition was tight, the games were close and the excitement was WILD!

After three round robin games and a record of 1 win and 2 TIES, the Scorpions were the top of their pool. Advancing to the Semi-finals they faced the undefeated Windsor WildCats #3 team. A strong, full-team effort led to a 2-0 win, advancing them to the finals. As reported on the Windsor WildCats website, the "Cats met their match in the tournament semifinal against a tough defensive London Westman squad." The final proved to be another close, well played game. Despite a great effort, The Scorpions were defeated 2-1 by the Windsor WildCats #4 team, earning the players a medal and the 'Finalists' banner. Despite the holiday break and a few players battling the seasonal flu, the team pulled together to support each other and play some of their best hockey so far this season. With the success of this tournament behind them The Scorpions are looking forward to their appearance in the February Devilettes tournament. The parents of the Scorpions players would like to thank Ed Westman and the rest of the coaching staff for the leadership and commitment they have dedicated to our team.
