Scorpions Blaze Trail to Finals in London Devilettes Tournament
Six games played with only a single goal scored against them! With this accomplishment, Ed Westman’s Scorpions proudly placed as Finalists in the Pee Wee House League Division of the recent London Devilettes Tournament.
With incredible support from their goalie, Chantel Devries, the Scorpions soared through the round robin in their pool with 3 shut-out wins against teams from Ancaster, Mississauga and Essex (White).
The Quarter Finals led to a match up with the Barrie Sharks, that saw the Scorpions pull off a 2 – 0 win. An exciting Semi Final game against their fellow Devilettes, White Lightning, led to yet another shut-out win for the team.
The finals against the Lakeshore Lightning (White) proved to be a dramatic and intense game for the players and spectators alike. After three periods, the score remained 0-0. With 26 seconds left in the second overtime period a goal was scored. Lakeshore had won.
The team would like to congratulate Emma Nash who was awarded the Randie Tuffin Spirit Award in recognition of her leadership, work ethic and overall team spirit.
