Tryout and Warmup Skates
All players registered are invited to the first 7 ice times in the calendar.  4 practices and 3 tryouts.  For the practices you need to bring your own jersey.  Tryouts we will provide a tryout jersey to use and return.  There will be a sign in desk at the front doors.  You will be allowed into the rink 15 minutes before our ice times.  Please do not go in early without the sign in desk.

The rinks have varied capacity for change rooms, so please come to the rink fully dressed other than skates, helmet and gloves.  Not all girls will get a change room, some may get a chair.
For anyone knew to OWHA - no males in the change rooms.
Face masks are required until helmets go on.
Bring your own water bottle with the player's name on it.
Max 2 spectators per player.
Spectators not from the same household must be socially distanced.

The first 4 sessions are practices and meant to get the kids legs back in shape and a less stressful start to hockey before tryouts begin.  Then we have 3 tryouts after this.  The tryouts will have non parents evaluating on ice and in the arena as well as myself.  After the 3rd tryout I will likely make some cuts or even select the team that night.  The 4th tryout ice listed could be that a tryout, or it could be our first team practice.

If anyone is interested in being a full time goalie please reach out to discuss with me.  Hockey Canada prefers players to rotate positions at this age, but not mandated if a kid loves that position and wants to pursue it.

Parent meeting - before I make player cuts I would like to have a short parent meeting.  Likely time is after Tryout 1 in the parking lot.  I want to go over financials so all parents are aware of a total family cost if they are new to competitive hockey.  Want to make sure families know before we lock the roster in.

Tryout notes:
parents - check you have all the gear before leaving home
parents - make sure skates are not dull
players - skate your hardest
players - no being silly when waiting your turn
everyone - have some fun!

Looking forward to Monday,

Coach Matt
