U18 B Coach's Message
Dear Parents and Players,
For those of you that I have not had a chance to meet with yet, my name is Andrew Daley and I am looking forward to getting back on the ice this year as your Head Coach for the London Devilettes U18 B team for the 2021 / 2022 season.
As a parent, I have been involved with hockey for over 13 years; with the last 7 years as a staff or coach on the bench. More recently, I completed my field evaluation for Development 1 coach, a requirement by OWHA for the competitive stream. The past three years I have been coaching at a competitive level and my strategies include; emphasis on skill development, working together towards a common goal, caring for the game by giving it your best effort, focus on areas that need improvement, encourage each player to support each other, and lastly take pride in your team and successes (win or lose).
The key to working together is teamwork. Hockey is all about working together as a team and trusting each other in the position and role that you play. An attribute I learned early in life was take risks, make mistakes and learn from them. As my grandfather always said, the quickest way to learn something is to do it wrong. I challenge every player to keep this motto, try things, make mistakes and learn from them. As a team we can recover from any mistake together if we give it our best each time we are on the ice. I’m looking forward to the 2021 / 2022 year.
