The team had an amazing weekend. 3 wins and one tie in the round robin phase had the team in second place. The Sunday gold medal games resulted in our game being the deciding points for the Canada vs USA result. Gold for Canada! As the horn sounded we celebrated the gold in the team format of 5 teams vs each other.
After being down a goal two different times in the final game, the girls took a lead early in the third and never gave it back. The top ranked Tier 2 team in Michigan was a tough opponent to finish off the weekend versus.
Friday after two wins it was off the RedWings game. A first NHL game for many girls. 4 of them were allowed to watch warmups from the penalty box and all players got a free red wings shirt. Great day.
Saturday was a win and a tie versus two strong opponents. Fun Day.
Sunday as noted the big gold medal game and win! Amazing day.
