Green Armband Initiative
The London Referees Group in partnership with Alliance Hockey is introducing the Green Armband initiative.

In an effort to remove the verbal and physical maltreatment that our on ice officials are subjected to, effective for the 2024 - 2025 season, the London Referees Group in partnership Alliance Hockey has introduced the Green Armband policy for all of our minor-aged officials. As a commitment to continue the development of our entry level and minor-aged officials there should be no unreasonable pressure, negative expression, intimidation, or other acts of maltreatment in accordance with Hockey Canada Section 11 towards on-ice officials.

This new Alliance Hockey policy has been implemented to support on-ice officials by having entry level and minor-aged officials wearing green armbands, as a visual signal to all coaches, players, team officials, parents, and spectators to modify and control negative emotions, language, and behaviour before, during, and after games.
