Important Safety Update from the London Devilettes Girls Hockey Association
Dear Devilettes Families,

The London Devilettes Girls Hockey Association has been made aware of deeply concerning charges laid against a London man, who was a volunteer with our organization. According to a statement released by the London Police Service, the individual has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference with a person under the age of 16, and luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication.

We understand how distressing this information is for our families and community. The safety, protection, and well-being of our players is, and will always remain, our highest priority.

Effective immediately, the individual has been removed of all team responsibilities and will no longer have any involvement with the London Devilettes Girls Hockey Association in any capacity. We are also reviewing our policies and working with our governing partners to ensure that our procedures remain strong and continue to protect the young athletes entrusted to our care.

If you have questions, concerns, or information you feel is important to share, please reach out directly:

    •    Chelsea Jongeneelen, Vice President – [email protected]

    •    Joanne Spylo, President – [email protected]

We will respond as we are able, but please understand that addressing this matter is currently our top priority.

Thank you for your trust and support as we work to uphold the safe, respectful, and positive environment that every Devilettes player and family deserves.

Sincerely,
Joanne Spylo, President

London Devilettes Girls Hockey Association

The Timbits Hockey and Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program that provides opportunities for kids aged four to nine to play house league sports. The philosophy of the program is not based on winning or losing, but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just being a kid. Tim Hortons currently supports more than 300,000 children on teams in hockey, soccer, ringette, lacrosse, softball and baseball leagues in Canada and the United States. Our sponsorship includes jerseys, participation medals and a Timbits player gift for each player. Adding to the fun, Timbits teams are often invited to attend Canadian Hockey League (CHL), National Hockey League (NHL) and Major League Soccer (MLS) games to catch the action and showcase their skills between periods.
