Welcome to the 2024/2025 U13 Devilettes House League Season
Hey Devilettes Players, Parents, and Coaches! We're Steve Phair and Paul Lavoie, and together, we'll be your U13 House League co-convenors for the 2024/2025 season. Whether you’re returning or new to the Devilettes, we’re excited to have you on board for what’s sure to be a fun-filled year of hockey, friendships, and skill development, regular season thrills and the excitement of tournament play.

We’re kicking things off with three assessment sessions to form balanced teams. Our first assessment will be on Saturday, September 28th at the Kinsmen arena, so mark your calendars.

We’ll be using the assessments to create well-balanced teams, so please encourage your athlete to do their best. Once our final registration list is complete, we’ll send out an assessment reminder with your athlete’s specific ice time. After the third session on Saturday, October 5th, teams will be assembled, and  your head coach will be in touch. We’ll post the schedule for the first half of the season soon after.

Key Dates & Ice Times for Assessments:

U13 Assessment #1: Saturday, Sept 28 at 1PM and 2PM
U13 Assessment #2: Wednesday, Oct 2 at 5PM and 6PM
U13 Assessment #3: Saturday, Oct 5 at 1PM and 2PM

*We'll send out an email shortly with the specific session times your athlete will be in*

Regular Season Ice Times:

Wednesdays: 5PM and 6PM @ Kinsmen Arena
Saturdays:     1PM and 2PM @ Kinsmen Arena

A Few Quick Requests:

1. Preferred Position & Shooting Direction: Let us know if your athlete’s preferred position or shooting side has changed from registration by replying to this email.

2. Assessment Jerseys: Athletes will get their jerseys before the first assessment. Please make sure they hold onto these for each session, as they’ll be evaluated by jersey color and number. *The assessment jerseys must be returned*

3. Bench/Dressing Room Moms and Trainers: We need moms to volunteer for each of our four teams! Under the policy of the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association (OWHA), 2 rostered Dressing Room Moms (DRMs) must be in the dressing rooms with players at all times. However, we would ideally like to have 3 on each team in the event someone can’t make it to a game or practice.
We also require Bench Moms and a Trainer for each team. If you are interested in fulfilling one of these roles, please respond to this email and let us know. Keep in mind you will require a valid Vulnerable Sector Check through the London Police and complete The Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders. Trainers will have to complete an additional certification as well. Each of these links is provided below.

When you arrive at the rink for your athlete’s first assessment, we will have a table set up where we will hand out the jerseys. We know you’ve got a lot going on, but please do your best to arrive at least 25 minutes prior to your first assessment as we are juggling about 60 athletes and we’ll want to keep things running on time. We’re looking forward to a fantastic season ahead and can’t wait to see everyone on the ice for an exciting 2024/2025 season of Devilettes hockey!

Best,

Steve & Paul U13 House League Convenors
