The LD U18A got the ball rolling with some game action over the weekend ...
While the results were a come from behind tie and a loss, the effort and pressure that was applied, were promising takeaways from a weekend double dip.
The team faced off against Stratford on Saturday at the ole Brookside Dome, which saw a bit of a shaky start, but rounded in to a come from behind tie game.
Sunday, the team headed down the old Imperial Highway to Aylmer to face off against the Blazers. This one was a penalty filled affair, in which BAD opened the scoring on a power play in first period. LD was hungry to tie this one up, but the Blazer backstops were up to the task, stopping all 26 shots (15 of which were in the 3rd period), to preserve the 1-0 win over our girls.
Plenty of things to build off from the weekend that was and there is not much turn-around time, as the squad hosts the Sabres of South Huron on Wednesday evening and head to Oakville's Harvestfest tourney on the weekend!
Below are a couple of shots from a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
