*** ADDENDUM*** If you require a policecheck for the
Devilettes, please contact Scot Chantler so that he may issue you an
authorization letter. This will reduce the cost of the police checks.
As of 2014, the London Devilettes Girls Hockey Association (LDGHA) have updated
their policy in relation to "Police Checks" for coaches, bench staff,
and on ice helpers. This policy is now in alignment with the new OWHA
Screening Policies The policy runs in 4 year cycles.
The first year, persons meeting the criteria are required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) and Criminal Record Check (CRC). Persons living within the City of London must visit the London Police Headquarters, 601 Dundas St. London to obtain the VSS/CRC. Those living outside of the City of London must visit their local police service to obtain these documents.
The next 2 years (years 2 and 3 of the cycle) persons that fall within the criteria must print out, complete and sign the Criminal Offence Declaration Form located on the Devilettes website under "Forms" and forward it to Scot Chantler of the LDGHA.
A person in their 4th year person meeting the criteria must complete a Criminal Records Check (CRC) from their local police service, and complete and sign the Criminal Offense Declaration Form (from our website) and forward it to Scot Chantler.
The London Devilettes will accept Police Checks used for other organizations (eg soccer, baseball) as long as they were obtained within the 6 months prior to submission to the London Devilettes.
Anyone that has been away from the organization for a period of one year or more must re-submit both the VSS and CRC.
Anyone that has a Police check on file with the London Devilettes dating back to 2011, falls within the new policy.
New persons requiring the VSS and CRC should do so as soon as possible. The Head Coach/Manager will be responsible for ensuring all police checks and Offense Declaration Forms related to their team are completed. All completed documents must be forwarded to Scot Chantler.
We hope this new policy makes it much easier on our volunteers.
