What a great start to a season! Even though we didn't come home with a medal we played well and the scores reflect that. Our next game is January 14th against Cambridge.

Congratulations to the Novice DS team for winning the Guelph Tournament this past weekend! The girls worked hard, played as a team and displayed great sportsmanship (penalty free) throughout all 5 games and were rewarded with a well deserved Gold medal.

The Atom DS Girls won a bronze medal at their first tournament, The Mississauga Winter Classic Showcase.  The girls played a gritty tournament, coming back twice in the third period of elimination games to win in overtime.

After earning 2 wins and only one loss in round robin play, the girls played an elimination game against Clarington.  Finding themselves down 3-1 in the third period the girls rallied to score two goals, tying the game with 40 seconds left in regulation and winning 2 minutes into overtime.

The Devilettes then lost in the semi final to a very strong Burlington team who would go on to win the tournament.

In the bronze medal game, the girls faced Aurora and once again entered the 3rd period down two goals and tied the game with less than a minute to go.  The Devilettes never quit and Tatum Watson potted a beautiful goal on a perfect feed from Avery Cotton to win the Bronze Medal with 7 seconds left in overtime.

Way to go girls!

Another excellent team effort yesterday by the girls shutting down the Barracudas from Burlington! The coaching staff is highly impressed by the determination, teamwork and fair play (2 penalty free games) of this group so far. Let's take this momentum and roll into the new year.

Happy Holidays!

Coach Shawn
